Stiltes in de Muziek 2: Maluku Belanda

This is the second edition of our collaboration with ZO Jazz Stage: Stiltes in de Muziek will present a range of evenings featuring discussions and music highlighting the postcolonial history of jazz in the Netherlands. This second evening will focus on Moluccan musicians in the Dutch jazz scene. We speak with Eddy Tutuarima, Nippy Noya and Monica Akihary about the history of Moluccan music in the Netherlands, the meaning of jazz and improvisation, and the role of traditional lagu-lagu. The music on this evening will be provided by SMANDEM featuring Gino Cochise.
